This LED savings calculator estimates your annual energy savings, payback period, and 10-year net return from an LED lighting upgrade. Enter your current fixture wattage, count, operating hours, electricity rate, and LED replacement data. The tool applies the standard formula: (current kW minus LED kW) times annual runtime hours times your kWh rate, minus net project cost after utility rebates.
Methodology: energy cost uses kWh = (watts / 1000) x fixtures x (hours/day) x (days/week) x 52 weeks. Payback is net project cost divided by annual savings. The calculator does not account for HVAC cooling load reduction or demand-charge reduction, both of which typically add to real-world savings.
